MEPCO Bill FCA August 2026: Why the June Fuel Adjustment Is on Your Bill
If your August 2026 MEPCO bill shows FCA for June 2026, the month is not a mistake. NEPRA approved a Rs0.7503 per kWh Fuel Charges Adjustment for electricity consumed in June and directed MEPCO and other ex-WAPDA distribution companies to recover it in the August 2026 billing cycle.
Why is June FCA appearing in August?
The June fuel-cost figures had to go through the regulatory process before the charge could be finalized. NEPRA held the FCA hearing on 29 July 2026 and issued its decision on 7 August 2026. The order tells XWDISCOs and K-Electric to show the June FCA separately in August bills.
There is another detail worth checking: NEPRA says the FCA should be calculated from the units billed in June 2026.
So, for this particular adjustment, do not automatically multiply Rs0.7503 by your August meter usage.

These figures represent the FCA component only, before the other amounts that may appear on an electricity bill.
Why is the rate Rs0.7503 instead of Rs1.20?
CPPA-G initially sought an FCA of Rs1.20 per kWh for June. Its filing used an actual fuel-charges component of Rs8.9138/kWh, against a reference component of Rs7.7138/kWh. After examining the figures and making adjustments, NEPRA determined the actual fuel component at Rs8.4641/kWh and approved Rs0.7503/kWh instead.
NEPRA’s decision also records that June generation was 5.56% below the level assumed in the reference tariff, along with scrutiny and adjustments involving claimed generation costs.
Who does the June FCA apply to?
The notified adjustment covers the stated consumer categories of MEPCO and other ex-WAPDA DISCOs, as well as K-Electric under the applicable uniform framework.
NEPRA excluded lifeline consumers, electric vehicle charging stations and prepaid electricity consumers who opted for the prepaid tariff. The adjustment also applies to consumption covered by the Incremental Consumption Package.
What should you check on your MEPCO bill?
Look for the separate FCA line and compare the amount with the June units billed on your account. If you need to retrieve an older statement first, use the MEPCO bill checker and then compare the June figure with the FCA calculation.

One more point: NEPRA allowed the adjustment to be recovered in a later billing month when an August bill had already been issued before the notification.
The Rs0.7503 figure is therefore a June 2026 FCA recovered through the August billing cycle, not a statement that MEPCO has permanently raised its base electricity tariff.
